Unexpected School Closures

Please be advised that any unexpected school closures will be updated on the school district website https://www.nlesd.ca/ by approximately 6:30 a.m., as well as the local radio stations. Winter Weather
The cold winter weather is here!! With this being said we are reminding students that they need to be dressed for the cold frigid temperatures with coats, boots, hats, gloves etc, as we know the weather can change at anytime and it is better to come prepared.

We ask that you please discuss with your child the importance of not throwing snowballs. We have reminded our students that we do not tolerate any snow ball throwing, as injuries can happen very easily. Behaviours of this nature will be dealt with very seriously.

Winter Driving on School Grounds

We ask that you take extra caution while driving in and around our school grounds at all times, but especially during the winter months when roads and parking lots are slippery, snow banks are high, and visibility may not be the best. The safety of our students is our utmost importance.

General Information
We strongly discourage the consumption of energy drinks at SKJH!

We now have several high school students who will be attending Homework Haven on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons from 2:30 - 3:15 to provide tutoring to our students. This is a great opportunity for your child to get some extra support in a variety of subject areas in both French and English.

Soy Butter products are not permitted in a school where a student has a peanut allergy. This includes the product WowButter, which looks and tastes just like real peanut butter.
